Machi Big Brother sold Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT #6801 after another liquidation cut into his leveraged Ether position on Hyperliquid.

The NFT sold for 8.61 ETH, down from the 23.5 ETH Machi paid three years earlier. The sale crystallized a 14.89 ETH loss, worth about $28,000 at the time of the transaction.

Another liquidation preceded the sale as Machi continued backing an ETH long through the wallet publicly associated with his Hyperliquid trading. The size of the latest forced reduction was not immediately available from the transaction record.

The sale price matched the Bored Ape collection floor near 8.61 ETH. OpenSea listed the NFT under a new wallet after the transaction, ending Machi’s three-year holding period.

NFT Sales Continue To Support Leveraged ETH Trading

Machi has repeatedly reduced his Bored Ape collection while maintaining leveraged ETH exposure through periods of falling prices and forced position closures.

He sold three Bored Apes for 27.42 ETH in early July while carrying a 2,600 ETH long on Hyperliquid. The NFTs had cost a combined 52.42 ETH, leaving a loss of about 25 ETH on those sales.

Over the preceding month, 34 Bored Apes were sold for 326 ETH, compared with an aggregate purchase cost roughly 399 ETH higher. Bored Ape #6057 produced the largest individual loss in that group, selling for 7.65 ETH after Machi bought it for 76.84 ETH four years earlier.

Those disposals came as repeated liquidations eroded the capital behind his ETH trades. One earlier position used 25-times leverage with liquidation near $1,560.81, leaving the account exposed to relatively small declines in Ether.

Machi Remains BAYC’s Largest Holder

The latest sale continues a shift from Machi’s NFT portfolio into capital for leveraged trading. He disclosed ownership of 182 Bored Apes in May before the subsequent wave of disposals.

Despite those sales, OpenSea’s current holder rankings list MachiBigBrother as the collection’s largest wallet, with 137 Bored Apes representing approximately 1.37% of the 10,000-item collection.
