Exchange Art will officially cease operations on August 1, ending the Solana art marketplace after a prolonged bear market for onchain art.

The platform and its services will no longer be available after the shutdown date. Users were asked to access their accounts and retrieve any necessary information before the platform becomes inaccessible.

Exchange Art said it could not find a fiscally viable path forward as a company during the extended downturn in onchain art activity. The marketplace had focused on Solana-native art, artist curation and collector access.

All artworks and currencies held inside Exchange Art sales and escrow contracts will be released to the proper owners before the platform closes.

Minted Artworks Will Remain On Solana

Artworks minted through Exchange Art are on the Solana blockchain and can be imported into other marketplaces. Artists and collectors do not need to take extra steps to keep their minted artwork secure.

The shutdown applies to Exchange Art’s website, platform services, account access, sales tools and marketplace interface. NFTs already minted on Solana remain onchain.

Users may still need to save account information, transaction records, sales data, artist details or other platform-specific records before August 1. Exchange Art did not announce a replacement marketplace, buyer migration tool or extended read-only period after the closure date.

NFT Platforms Continue To Close

Exchange Art’s closure follows other shutdowns across NFT infrastructure. NFTfi will stop operations on August 31 after NFT lending activity fell below the cost of maintaining the protocol.

Magic Eden also faces a federal class action tied to ME token utility claims, rewards, staking, governance and marketplace support.

Exchange Art is closing its platform and services, while artworks minted on Solana remain onchain and escrowed assets are scheduled to be released before the shutdown.

Exchange Art will shut down and become inaccessible on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
