Ethereum Presale Wallet Moves 2,000 ETH After More Than 10 Years

An Ethereum presale wallet address beginning with 0x158 has transferred 2,000 ETH for the first time after holding the coins for more than 10 years.

The wallet acquired the ETH during Ethereum’s 2014 presale at about $0.31 per token, putting the original purchase cost near $620. The same 2,000 ETH is now valued at approximately $4.2 million, based on ETH trading near $2,100.

The movement brings another early Ethereum address back into focus as traders continue to monitor dormant wallets from the network’s launch era. Presale and ICO-era addresses are watched closely because they represent some of the earliest ETH supply, much of which has remained inactive through multiple market cycles.

Early Ethereum Supply Returns Onchain

Ethereum’s original presale began in 2014, before the network launched in July 2015. Early participants received ETH at a steep discount to current prices, creating some of the largest long-term gains in the crypto market.

The 0x158 transfer follows several similar early-holder movements. A larger Ethereum ICO whale moved almost 10,000 ETH in late April after nearly 11 years of inactivity, while another Ethereum ICO wallet moved 50 ETH earlier this month after also staying quiet for nearly 11 years.

Dormant-wallet transfers often draw attention because they show old supply becoming active again. In this case, the wallet’s decade-long hold turned an initial $620 allocation into a multimillion-dollar ETH balance.

ETH Market Watches Dormant Wallet Activity

The transfer comes during a sensitive period for Ethereum, with ETH trading near the low-$2,000 area and market sentiment still under pressure from ETF-flow concerns, network activity debates and wider risk appetite across crypto.

Old-wallet movements can add to that attention because early holders often control coins acquired at extremely low prices. Recent Ethereum market coverage has already highlighted how sentiment has weakened during the latest wave of ETH debates, with Ethereum FUD spreading across crypto Twitter as traders watch price levels and whale behavior.

The confirmed onchain event is straightforward: a presale wallet that bought 2,000 ETH for about $620 has moved funds now worth roughly $4.2 million after more than a decade of inactivity. The address is active again, and any further transactions from the wallet will likely stay under close market watch.
