Coinbase Business has processed more than $1 billion across over 5,000 companies as the exchange expands its crypto payment, trading and treasury platform for small and medium-sized businesses.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the product was growing through word of mouth without paid marketing, citing demand for payments, trading, treasury management and bill-payment services.

The platform is available to eligible companies registered in the United States and Singapore. Businesses can connect a bank account, fund their Coinbase balance, trade more than 200 crypto assets and move funds between digital assets and U.S. dollars.

The current Coinbase Business platform combines payments, custody, trading and financial reporting inside a single corporate account. Coinbase advertises 3.35% annual rewards on eligible USDC balances, with rates varying by location and account terms.

USDC Powers Payments And Treasury Operations

Companies can create payment links, issue invoices and send global payouts through Coinbase Business. Payments settle into the company’s custodial Coinbase account, where balances can be traded, held, transferred or withdrawn to a connected bank.

Payment links accept USDC from supported wallets and charge a fee on completed transactions. Businesses can also automate contractor, supplier and customer payments through Coinbase APIs, including scheduled or batch payouts.

The product gives finance teams accounting integrations, transaction exports and audit-ready reporting alongside custody and trading access. Coinbase Business customers are automatically enrolled in USDC rewards unless they opt out, while withdrawals and conversions remain subject to account and regional limits.

Coinbase has been extending the same stablecoin infrastructure into external payment networks. Its integration with Nium opened USDC-funded payouts across more than 190 countries, allowing enterprise customers to settle transfers into stablecoins or local currencies.

Coinbase Payments also recently connected USDC and EURC to Spiko’s tokenized money-market funds, adding a route between stablecoin balances and regulated Treasury-bill products.

Coinbase Commerce Moves Into The New Platform

Coinbase Business has replaced Coinbase Commerce as the company’s primary merchant account product. Commerce users were required to migrate before March 31, 2026, when Coinbase shut access to the former dashboard and payment-creation tools.

The newer platform is custodial, unlike the self-custodial Commerce product. Coinbase controls assets held inside the business account, enabling direct bank withdrawals, USDC rewards, accounting integrations and trading from the same interface.

Companies outside the United States and Singapore remain ineligible for Coinbase Business and must join the international waitlist. Coinbase has said it plans to add more countries during 2026, while current applicants need a registered business entity and business bank account to complete onboarding.
